Our Staff

Josh has been the pastor of our church since January 2020. Josh grew up here in Rapid City, SD. Josh began aspiring to be a pastor as a junior in high school at Rapid City Christian High School. He attended Grace University in Omaha, NE, to pursue a degree in pastoral studies, graduating in 2005. Josh went on to earn a Master of Divinity degree from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, MO, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC, working remotely.

Josh and Brie met in college and married in July of 2005. Micah was born in 2008, Elijah in 2010, and Lydia in 2012. Bianca joined them from Haiti in December of 2021, and surprise baby Norah arrived in 2022. The Brown kids are friendly, energetic, and talented. They are a blast to hang out with.

Josh has served as an associate pastor at LifeSpring Church in Bellevue, NE, and South Canyon Baptist Church in Rapid City, SD, before being happily sent out to plant a new church in the heart of Rapid City along with 29 others from South Canyon Baptist Church.

Josh is an avid reader. He enjoys sports, outdoor recreation, coffee shops, and cheering on the Denver Broncos and Denver Nuggets. Brie is multi-talented and loves serving in any way that is needed. She is a former elementary music teacher and currently works part-time at Scheels. She loves crafts, projects, and doing fun stuff with others.

*We are working toward raising additional Biblically qualified elders to join Josh in leading the church. We believe a plurality of elders is God’s design for a long-term healthy church.
